The History of Uskavigården

The main building, called Bergsmannen, was built in 1910. Constructed by Mine manager Per Larsson. He owned 12 mines in the area and needed a house close by the mines for his family and himself. Outside of Bergsmannen you can find 12 big stones, one for each mine Mr Larsson owned.

At the beginning of 1920, Bergsmannen changed owner. Another manager, Carl A Pehrson, most known for his company ”Industry AB Viking” who made shoe polish.

Uskavi became the families’ summer place for 19 years. 1938 Uskavi was bought by “Ansgariföreningen” – Youth community of the covenant church.

Then it became a place for camping. After constructing, Uskavigården inaugurated the summer of 1939.
